The StruBiTEM facility is part of the University of Cologne. The University of Cologne is with about 50.000 students one of the largest Universities of Europe and as it was founded in 1388, it is also one of the oldest.
The electron microscopes are located in the Biocenter building which houses the Biology department of the University. The sample preparation labs are in the Biochemistry building which is part of the Chemistry department.
